As a child Patrick attended the Armagh Piper’s Cub where he learnt the flute and whistle. His love of percussion became evident from a young age competing at the All Ireland Fleadh at the age of eight. He performed for President Micahel Higgins during the All Ireland Fleadh in Derry and also featured with his father, Martin Meehan and Uncle Paul Meehan on Fleadh TV, broadcast live from Ennis in 2017. In 2018 his musical journey continued with admission to Limerick Universtiy to study Irish Music and Dance. Since then, Patrick has featured in a professional capacity in festivals and concerts both at home and across Europe. He has featured on various recordings and recently collaborated with Kevin Meehan and Donal Donnelly. Patrick is now enetering his third year of his degree in Limerick and has started to tutor privately, for Fastrrad and North Cost Trad. We are delighted to have Patrick as our bodhrán tutor!
